Survey and a "Give Away"
Attention :
In my efforts to find ways to motivate and encourage everyone to become "Prepared" I am asking for some feedback as to what will help motivate and assist you in your journey .
Please leave a comment on this post or email me at anissaferguson@aol.com with your thoughts on what type of information or classes you would like to see offered such as:
food storage basics and menu planning (to help you store what you will actually eat) including food allergies
living frugally and planning ahead through freezer cooking (helps avoid those last minute Mcdonalds adventures)
budgeting helps (including budgeting ideas for children)
Emergency Preparedness (including 72 hour kits).
Resume building and interviewing skills
Since it always helps to motivate with a "Give Away" ...... everyone who participates in this survey will be entered into a drawing (using the random generator.org ) and the winner will receive a homecooked meal including dessert :) ***** Must Live in Middleton, Idaho to enter :)
Thanks for your assistance !!
Important update : I've added an additional prize it's a great cook book full of freezer meal Ideas .....keep the feedback coming !!

ReplyDeleteThanks for your help!
Kathie
Anissa! You are a ROCKSTAR!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSome things that would help motivate me to be prepared would be things like "simple assignments" - this month, buy 4 extra jars of peanut butter (or whatever).
Also, storage organization helps and hints - rotating hints, how-tos, etc.
You don't have to enter me in your drawing because I live in Wyoming!, but I'm going to follow you, cuz you're awesome!
I agree with everything above. :) I also feel very intimidated by the cannery. I've only been once like 7 years ago. Not sure what to buy, or what to do. How to store it and where to store it?! :)
ReplyDeleteThere are some things that I don't use or don't know how to use, such as hard oats. I don't have a wheat grinder...is it really worth investing in? or will ground wheat store just as well?
I would really love a class on freezer meals. I would love a class where we put together 72 hour kits, everyone could be assigned to bring one item? For the blog perhaps you could have a little permanent section at the top or to the side that would be the Assignment of the Week or something like that where you could put in something small we can do this week to help us get more prepared. I also need help with menu planning with our food storage.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Ashley on the 72 hr. kits. Maybe it could be like the freezer food groups where everyone that is involved brings items for that month :) I'm not looking to be put in the drawing twice, but have to put in my two cents any time I can :(

ReplyDeleteAnissa,
ReplyDeleteI would be more interested in focusing on the areas that the Church emphasizes on their Provident Living site, such as:
--Three-month supply of food: Some good, simple recipes.
--Drinking water: where and how much and how to store.
--Financial reserves: Guidelines from Church's "One for the Money" pamphlet (and since this isn't a church sponsored web site I can say I LOVE DAVE RAMSEY!:)
--Longer-term supply of BASIC food items.
--First Aid supplies: List for a good basic kit
--Important documents: What to have/ where to store
--Family Communication Plan: an outline
--Community Education Resources and Opportunities (would love a list of what talents are available in our ward/ stake and community--for example is there a local art teacher? etc.)
--Physical Health: Ideas,Tips
--Gardening: Tips, Resources, Deals
--Employment Opportunities, Skills and job finding tips for Older Teens and young adults.
--Safety Precautions and Tips for filtering computers/ cell phones/ IPod's etc.
Just my 2+ cents worth.=)
Ditto to all the comments. I need easy. I get overwhelmed very easily when I am presented with a big idea and not baby steps to get there. Does that make sense? 72 hour kits and food storage is a big one for me. Would also like more info on freezer meals! Thanks for all your hard work.
ReplyDeleteThanks Everyone !!!! I will be posting the winner on Wednesday :)
